Detoxing from alcohol and drugs can be uncomfortable – and potentially dangerous. As part of our inpatient program, you’ll be monitored closely through the detox process.
You may also be prescribed medication to help with more severe or uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms, clearing your mind to focus on treatment.
Customized, Evidence-Based Treatment Plans
We believe in doing what works. We use evidence-based treatments approved by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to help our clients heal.
As part of the admissions process, a knowledgeable team will help create a curriculum suited to your unique interests and needs. By customizing treatment for each client, every person who walks through our doors has a better chance of long-term recovery.
A Holistic, Total Wellness Approach
South Shores fits right in with the California vibe, using a comprehensive approach to healing your body and mind.
Our program curriculum supports recovery from drug and alcohol addiction, but it also supports a healthier, happier, and overall better life.
The foundations you’ll find during treatment can be applied to all areas of your life. You’ll learn skills that will improve your communication and interpersonal skills, thinking patterns, emotional regulation, decision-making, and so much more. Our curriculum also helps you develop structure, routine, and healthy habits.
Dual Diagnosis for Mental Health Disorders
South Shores also offers dual diagnosis treatment for clients who have mental health needs alongside substance use disorders. There’s a strong connection between drug and alcohol use and mental illness.
Both have similar contributing factors. Mental health problems also increase the risk of substance use disorder, while addiction increases the risk of mental illness.
When these conditions coexist, it’s essential to treat both for lasting sobriety. At South Shores, we offer dual diagnosis treatment for outpatient and inpatient care programs. Regardless of the obstacles of co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, we can help you overcome those hurdles.
Get Convenient, Accredited Addiction Treatment at South Shores
South Shores is dually accredited with DHCS and Joint Commission Accreditations. These accreditations are a testament to the higher standard of care you’ll find at South Shores in Southern California.
Traveling to Our Facility
South Shores Detox is only 15 minutes from Laguna Beach, making it convenient for inpatient and outpatient treatment options.
There is even a free public transit trolley that runs from North Laguna Beach to the Ritz Carlton in Dana Point.
What to Expect During Our Residential Treatment Program
At South Shores, we are here to help and make detox and the recovery process as safe, comfortable, and helpful as possible. We prioritize the safety of our clients.
In addition to medical detox, proven treatment programs, individual therapy, and group therapy sessions, clients receive nutritional support, structure, and various recreational therapies.
We also encourage each client to participate in holistic and experiential activities at our rehab in Laguna Beach. This includes things like meditation and yoga on the beach, surf therapy, art therapy, and music therapy.
What to Expect During an Outpatient Program
Some clients choose an outpatient program instead of residential treatment, while others use these treatment options after drug and alcohol rehab. It depends on your individual needs and substance abuse treatment plan.
Intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization programs are some of our offerings for outpatient rehab. You would attend these programs in sessions, lasting several hours each, and spread out on different days of the week. Your individual session schedule depends on your specific needs.
Partial hospitalization programs are the more intensive of the two programs, for clients who need more help and support in a drug and alcohol detox program. They contain many of the same elements as inpatient treatment, including group and individual therapy sessions, recreational therapy, and more.
Choosing Between Inpatient and Outpatient Treatment
Typically, whether you choose outpatient or residential addiction treatment depends on your support needs and schedule. Regardless of your needs, our staff will support you and answer your questions throughout the entire process.
Some of the most commonly abused drugs include cocaine, methamphetamines, alcohol, marijuana, prescription medications, and opioids like heroin and fentanyl. With many of these, especially opioids and alcohol, there is a risk of complications and dangerous side effects during withdrawal.
If you’re having severe withdrawal symptoms, inpatient residential treatment is best. It’s also the best choice if you’ve tried to quit using drugs or alcohol and struggled in the past if you don’t have a supportive environment at home, or if you’ve been struggling with active addiction for more than a year.
The most effective rehab programs include long-term inpatient care of at least 30 days followed by an outpatient treatment program through your first 90 days of sobriety. Then, you’ll want to get continued support from group meetings and follow-up mental health care as long as needed.
Is Alcohol and Drug Addiction Treatment Covered by Insurance?
In most cases, outpatient and inpatient treatment options are covered by insurance plans. Insurance providers must provide insurance coverage for detox, addiction, and other recovery services in California and other states.
However, there may be restrictions based on your insurance plan. Some clients attend drug and alcohol rehab at our treatment center at no cost to them. Others pay a copay, which is usually an affordable price. We also accept self-pay clientele.
What if Insurance Won’t Pay for Addiction Treatment at South Shores?
Fortunately, if you have insurance, you likely have some type of coverage by insurance providers that will help with costs. But you still might have questions about how it works and whether you’ll have a copay.
Reach out to our experienced team with your questions. We can verify your insurance over the phone, discuss coverage, and even discuss alternate funding or payment plans if you are not covered. And, this help is completely confidential!
What Are the Next Steps After Laguna Beach Rehab?
Seeking treatment is a huge step in leading an addiction-free life, but it requires continued support. However, the right outpatient services and support groups will ensure you stay on the path to addiction recovery even after leaving our Orange County drug rehab and alcohol rehab center.
Prioritizing Safety and Support at Home
During early recovery, it is vitally important to live in a safe environment that supports sobriety. Some clients are lucky enough to be able to return home, but for those who aren’t, sober living or transitional housing may be an option.
With South Shores’ alumni program, we have access to a network of sober living facilities, transitional programs, case management and mental health resources, and more. We take the opportunity to support you through ongoing recovery seriously and that doesn’t end after you finish one of our residential programs.
